My sanity

Ma santé mentale

Mental health is a complex and taboo subject that can get deep down quickly. I knew about it when I was working roaming in Montreal. These men showed me how fragile life is, but how, despite this, everything could be "not so bad." They taught me that even with nothing they were able to look good. I'm talking about them because they taught me resilience.

I took a bad guy landing in 2015, and thinking of them gave me the "ass kick" as they say, to get up and figure out what was going on with me. I had this octopus spraying me with its ink into every particle of my body, it made me black. She made me see everything in black. This octopus has a very simple name: TAG! (generalized anxiety disorder), interspersed with major depression. I could never kill her, the beast that gnaws at me. Even today, my anxiety is present every hour. I have to manage it, learn to live with it. We have to tame each other since we live together in the same body. It took a long time to come to terms with it, but the more we talk about it, the better we get to know it. For example, appreciating the little moments in life and finding yourself “10 little pleasures of the day” helps to stay the course. However, life is not ugly, life is good and life should be simple. 💛
